Table for Six restaurants have good food, pleasant service and a welcoming atmosphere. We are planning more and more dinners in Mountain View and we're looking for new restaurant ideas. Cascal Restaurant
Mountain View's Cascal Restaurant offers diners a casual dining experience in an elegant and rustic setting of vivid colors and intimate dining. Cascal is located on Castro Street within a few blocks of the Mountain View CalTrain Station. The restaurant's design draws on Spanish decor as it combines warm flavors together with exotic furnishings and fixtures. Cascal's featured dishes include a marinated pork shoulder dish, slow-roasted with Cuban black beans; a seafood platter with fresh fish, mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops, calamari, scallops, octopus and garlic-tuna alloli; and a vegetable dish of grilled seasonal fresh vegetables, baked in a vegetable and herb stock. A full plate dinner at Cascal's can cost up to $40 though "tapas", small portions, are available.
Monte Carlo
The Monte Carlo, a Castro Street landmark, is a combined restaurant and nightclub in the heart of Mountain View. Table for Six groups looking for an vibrant and active environment will enjoy the Monte Carlo which has three dance floors, each with a different type of music for dancing. The DJs play rock, hip hop, merengue, bachata and Salsa/Banda music, each on a different dance floor. Menu items include a variety of Mexican foods such as tacos, burritos, tortillias and spicy crepes. The Monto Carlo's bar is extensive and serves a wide variety of hand-crafted drinks. The Monte Carlo is easily accessible from the West Evelyn Avenue CalTrain Rapid Transit Station or, by car, off the Central Expressway's South Shoreline Blvd. exit.
Cantankerous Fish
The Cantankerous Fish restaurant, located near Mountain View's Pioneer Park, offers Table for Six diners a pleasant seafood restaurant with excellent cuisine and a pleasant ambiance. The Cantankerous Fish is the perfect place for casual dining at moderate prices. The eatery serves a wide variety of unique fish and other seafood cuisine such as the Fareast Grilled Mahi Mahi made with ratatouille, coconut curry peanut sauce, crispy coconut rice cake and grilled pineapple salsa. The restaurant also serves conventional fish and seafood dishes as well as beef, chicken and lamb. Diners may order wine by the glass, draught or bottled beer or cocktails to accompany their meal. The Cantankerous Fish is located near the corner of California Street and Moffitt Blvd.
XANH
XANH, a contemporary Mountain View Vietnamese eatery located on Castro Street, is a comfortable lounge and restaurant which incorporates a contemporary design alongside a traditional South Asian menu. Music enhances the atmosphere and Table for Six dinner parties may choose to sit in either XANH's comfortable lounge or quiet dining room. XANH retains the classic taste of traditional Vietnamese cooking but has updated it, creating a new culinary art. Some of the XANH innovations include a crab and asparagus soup, ahi tuna tartare, smoked salmon on shrimp sticks, banana leaf sea bass and miso salmon. The restaurant serves wine and cocktails. The price of a full meal at XANH is approximately $30.
Savvy Cellar Wine Bar
The Savvy Cellar Wine Bar and Wine Shop, easily accessible from either Mountain View's West Valley Freeway or the Central Expressway, offers Table for Six participants a fresh type of venue for get-togethers. Diners can enjoy a variety of appetizers, such as olives, hummus or spreads with their drinks, or they may order a full meal to accompany their wine tasting. Menu items include such delectable dishes as the housemade Crostini Roma, flatbreads, an artisan cheese board, smoked salmon lox or baked fig and chorizo. A main dish at the Savvy Celler Wine Bar costs between $10 and $15. The Savvy Cellar is located in the Centennial Plaza Train Depot on West Evelyn Avenue at Castro Street, next to the CalTrain and VTA light rail station.
